Location: Basking Ridge, New Jersey

The Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in Basking Ridge, NJ, is an outpatient facility that offers diagnostic services, treatment, and follow-up care for a wide range of cancers to New Jersey residents. Of the facility’s existing four floors, only the first, second, and third floors were occupied prior to this project. The project’s intent was to relocate services and treatment space to the unoccupied fourth floor, and subsequently renovate and expand existing services on the lower floors.

PDS assisted our client with all pre-schematic programming and planning components for this project. This involved a series of departmental moves to maintain clinical operations throughout the construction process. There was a strong emphasis in designing for the elderly as this facility has a high population of geriatric patients. Specific attention was paid to furniture selections, way-finding, clear lines of sight as well as reduced travel distances.
