Client: Lake Charles Memorial Hospital

Location: Lake Charles, Louisiana

Our client tasked PDS with designing a new Same Day Surgery Unit and expand on their current Operating Room Suite. This project totals 6,700 square feet of purpose built space to support this growing program. The program includes a new state of the art General Operating Room, Procedure Room, 14 Private Recover Bays and an amble waiting area for family members and visitors just outside the unit. Patient and visitor experience was at the forefront of our design approach. In the recovery bays, special attention was paid to designing lighting with various scenes as to ease the patient through their recovery. Additionally, family / visitor accommodations were made wherever possible.

Comfortable seating was provided at each recovery bay and in the waiting area our interior designer ensure that comfort and varied types of seating was provided. The OR and Procedure Room are ample in size and provide caregivers the best environment to do their work. Lighting, laminar flow and robust finishes ensure this space will serve the suite well in the years to come.
